Raspberry

Not so long ago, 60% of the UK’s raspberry crop grew within 30 miles of Dundee. And the Angus / east Perthshire area is still the place to find the best of Scottish rasps. The raspberry is, of course, in the genus Rubus, which also includes wild hedgerow blackberries – called brambles in Scotland. There’s even a northern form, stone bramble, that grows in the Scottish Highlands amongst limestone rocks. However, it’s the anti-oxidant and anti-allergic properties of the tame and domestic raspberry that makes it a great naturual ingredient in skincare.
