Marigold

Plant some Calendula in your garden and you’ll have them forever. Even scatter the marigold petals in your salads, if you must. But don’t mix them up with African marigolds (Tagetes) which originally came from Mexico and are a popular bedding plant. Or, for that matter, marsh marigold (Caltha) which is quite common in wet places in Scotland. No, Calendula or pot marigold is the one we mean here. And it has been used as a gentle and soothing treatment in skincare for a very long time.
