Honey

Think of honey in Scotland and it’s usually prefixed by the word ‘heather’ – not just because of the pleasing alliteration but because it’s quite a tradition for Scottish beekeepers, where possible, to move their hives up to heather moors in bloom around August, especially as these moors are pretty much unspoilt and pesticide free. Honey has natural antioxidant and antimicrobial properties and is great in natural skincare.
